| Personal History | The Early Years and Life with Alexander Beck Fiona Clarise Morgan was born on July 31, 2380 to Jennifer and Jay Morgan. She grew up in Montague, Michigan. A little backwards town where her town folk believed they were part of the Midwest of the United States of America. She had a good upbringing with loving parents and siblings. Fiona really loved her family's restaurant and knew she had a natural passion for cooking, she was seriously considering at one point joining Starfleet but her parents convinced her to stick with the family business and leave the wars to others to fight. Their parents were nervous that if she joined the war that she may not go home, in recent years they've been too many attacks on the Federation for their liking. One of the attacks really hit close to home, Fiona heard her parents' concern and decided not to join Starfleet. She always wondered if she made the wrong decision. Fiona never joined Starfleet, but that never stopped her curiosity and she had always been fascinated by them. Her parents owned a shop called “Enersto’s Italian Eatery”. There was a lot of history behind the store. The shop and restaurant went back several generations in the Morgan family. Fiona met Alexander Beck during the eighth grade and she believed that he would be the one. She dreamed of a perfect marriage with him and wanted to raise a child with him. She had no idea that he would run from all his responsibilities a few years later. For the moment the world seemed perfect, and she was in love. After graduating high school she remained in Montague, Michigan. She supported Alex as she called him throughout his time at Starfleet Academy. He attended the Academy on Earth. Her family tried to convince Alex not to go into Starfleet. They said it changes people, and brings out some of the ugliest in people but he didn't hear their warning. He thought her family seemed a little bit crazy. He wondered if Fiona was just as crazy? He shrugged it off thinking no she's our own person. Alex being in Starfleet Academy In 2400 Fiona found out that she was pregnant. Alex did not take the news well. He accused her of trying to trap him, and that he didn't want to give up his career for her for the baby that he would be staying at Starfleet. Fiona was devastated that he was not excited to be a father. He started to get pressure from his family to marry her. She was torn, she wanted to have the child and to be with her, but he was rejecting her. He wasn't going to love this girl that he knocked up ruined his career, and from pressure from his family he eventually caved in and demanded that she marry him, and join him on the USS Kishara which would be his first posting. Against her logical reasoning, she agreed to marry him. They were practically forced by both of their parents to get married. She married him when he was a senior at Starfleet Academy; they had a small wedding in their hometown about a month before they graduated. During his Academy days she stayed in their small town in Montague, Michigan. Fiona and Alex on the USS Kishara In 2404 while serving on the USS Kishara, Alexander Beck left her and her son on the ship and was accepted in a black ops mission. During that time, he filed for divorce and petitioned his captain to issue him new quarters once he arrived back on the Kishara. Caden their child was devastated that his father left him on the Kishara. He had no idea why his father left, he was a toddler. Fiona felt devastated. She was serving as the cook on the ship, and would have stayed, but it felt odd. This was his posting. And she was his guest, now that he was leaving her, she knew this would not be a good place for her to be. Fiona requested that Starfleet send her to Valhalla Fleet Yards, it was the furthest away from the pain and memory of Alexander Beck. In 2404 her divorce to Alexander was complete, and she made her way to Valhalla Fleet Yards, after a brief trip home to Earth, to get her affairs in order. Alexander learned of her plan, and basically tried to accuse her of cheating and having a boyfriend. Which only confused her, they were now divorced. She could see that he was playing games. She decided to end communication with him. Alexander tried to file for custody, JAG declined his request. Given the nature of his assignment. His ego was severely bruised, and he decided to cut Fiona and Caden out of his life forever. She wondered what she did to him for Alex to treat her this way? Before she left the USS Kishara, Captain Tolar wanted to meet with Fiona. He told her that she did not have to go, but understood her reasoning. He was very impressed that she wanted to stay in Starfleet, he suggested to her to join Starfleet provisionally, and she could have a promotion to Ensign. Fiona never considered joining the Federation provisionally. They had a long conversation about the pro and cons of that choice. In the end she chose to join the Federation, and Captain Tolar gave her the provisional rank of Ensign. Captain Tolar told her there would be some training to do on the USS Dragonstar. Before her provisional status would be completed. But he held a ceremony for her saying goodbye, and promoting her to Provisional Ensign. Alex was not there, he was on a black operations mission for Captain Tolar. USS Dragonstar It had taken about a year for the divorce to clear and for her to get full custody of Caden. She did not expect Alex to break off custody rights. She felt that was not fair to Caden. He had changed, and she had no idea why? But she could not worry about that now. She was being transferred to Valhalla Fleet Yards, a request she made a year earlier. |
