✠ Level Charlie: Destroyer ✠

In Federation naval terminology, a destroyer class vessel is a fast, maneuverable, long-endurance warship that assists larger vessels in a fleet, convoy or battle group and defend them against powerful short range attackers.

Typically destroyers are attached to starbases. They are used mainly as defensive weapons. Destroyers can be assigned to carrier groups, but given the nature of the vessel, and its needs to be maintained, they are not ideal for this role, unless docked on a Typhon Class Command Carrier.

A destroyer can be a small as three decks, but no exceeding 15 decks in size. There are several variation types of destroyers, currently in Starfleet. Below is a list of the sub type of destroyers.

I: Defense Destroyers
a.Saber Class

II: Attached Destroyers
a. Defiant Class

III: Patrol Destroyers
a. Prometheus Class
b. Cerberus Class

IV: Repurposed Destroyers
a. Cardenas Class
