| Personal History | Early Childhood: Mila comes from a dysfunctional family. Her parents estranged, family life for her was very difficult. To say the least growing up. Her mother Esmée is deeply in love with Toby Carlsson, her father. And he is in love with her. But both believe they can not make a long distance relationship work. They both miss each other too much. She felt caught trapped in her early years. She spent several years on Starbase 341, before her mother was offered a position back on Earth. Mila loved being home on Earth, and spending time with kids her own age, and spending time with her family in the Netherlands. Life on Earth (Early Teenage Years) Some of the best years of Mila’s life was on Earth. She loved living in San Francisco. She loved her friends, and she loved the stability of the of her grandparents. She was still resentful that her parents, were apart. It was so clear to her that they loved each other, and they should be together. But her mother was stubborn. Her father was just as stubborn. Mila felt like her life came crashing down, when her mother was offered the executive officer position on the USS Ark Royal. She knew this was a great opportunity for her Mother to get a command of her own, but why couldn’t she wait four more years? In four years, she would have been out of the house, and moving on with her life. She felt that her mother took away her childhood. And took away her friends. She had a little resentment towards her mother for that. Despite the resentment. She still deeply loved her mother. Life on USS Ark Royal (Teenage Years) Mila was very grateful for the time she spent on the USS Ark Royal. She made several friendships, and managed to make a difference on the ship from a young age. It was thanks to her experience on the USS Ark Royal, that she joined Starfleet. Mila first joined the crew of the USS Ark Royal, at the age of 14 in 2389. She instantly made friends with the Second Officer, Chief Counselor and Operations Officer. Thanks to her influence, she witnessed Karl and Veronica fall in love. She use to go around the ship, calling herself a little cupid. Since she brought them together. Mila was the daughter of the first officer, who often acted more like the commanding officer of the USS Ark Royal, since there Captain was pulled away on special assignments, that were classified and above her pay grade. Life at Starfleet Academy In 2392 Mila graduated high school on the USS Ark Royal, and was accepted into Starfleet Academy. On Earth, at the San Francisco Academy Grounds. From 2392 through 2396, she attended the academy, and earned a commission as a control flight officer, and small pilot certification. Basically she could fly anything, and was proud of that fact. Life on the USS Baltimore Mila boarded the USS Baltimore in 2396 and spent the next four years, mostly on the Gamma Shift, from 0000 hours to 0800 hours. She learned to hate the shift, and felt like she was not being utilized. She requested a transfer, to another ship. She felt that her time on the Baltimore was stagnating and she wanted to serve Starfleet in a bigger role. Life on the USS Ark Royal In 2399 Mila’s request for a transfer was approved, and she was transferred to the USS Ark Royal, under the command of Captain Esmée Lotte Haas. She met up with the USS Ark Royal, on Valhalla Fleet Yards, as it just completed its refit. |
