| Personal History | Veronica grew up on a colony, an only child. Though she had no siblings, she made up for it in friendships. From the time she could walk, Veronica loved meeting other children. Life on the colony was good. She grew up very close to her parents and considered some of the others settled their her family as well. Many of the children she grew up with she considered cousins. Veronica's father was an engineer and he was in charge of keeping the city they lived in operating. Veronica worshipped him and wanted to become an engineer, the same as he was. She dreamed of getting a degree and coming back there to work beside him. As she grew older and attended school, Veronica's dreams changed. She started to dream of joining Starfleet and serving within the fleet. Veronica did some research and found that if she wanted to go to the Academy she had to work hard and show them that they would want her to attend. The academy was selective and she needed to stand out in the crowd. Veronica worked hard to pass her classes in the upper portion of her class and dedicated her spare time to working with her father. During her senior year she applied for the academy and was accepted. While in her later teens, Veronica dated Austin McDonald, the son of a close friend of their family. They had grown up together and their friendship had turned to love. Austin promised to wait for her while she went to the Academy and that he would join her and they would get married. It was while Veronica was at school that she received a letter from Austin that he had met someone else and broke off with her. Veronica was devastated at first, she had thought that he was the love of her life and nothing would break that. She shied away from relationships while finishing up at the academy. It took her several years to realize that Austin was not the one for her. Upon graduation from Engineering in the academy, Veronica was assigned to the USS Washington where she served for four years. In 2395 she was assigned to Starbase Port Royale where she served in the engineering department and was eventually transferred to Chief Engineering Officer on Tianlong In 2399 she married Michael Hudson, whom she had been dating since a few months after she came on the starbase. |
