| Personal History | The Early Years Regina Loraine McArthur who prefers to go by Gina, was born on the USS Toledo after constant warfare and the attack on Mars her family decided it best to retire from Starfleet and she was raised on Earth with her two younger siblings. Gina was born on July 25th, 2372. She was born in the heart of the Dominion War, her parents feared for her life and their own. Her father was Second Officer on the Toledo and finished out his contract. At that time he seriously considered retiring in 2376. He was offered the executive officer position aboard the USS Alabama. Where he remained until 2380. Gina's parents decided to have two more children. Apparently the family was going to stay in Starfleet, both parents being traumatized from the Dominion War. Ashley McArthur was born in 2381 and Trevor McArthur was born in 2383. Gina was a little jealous of her siblings in her younger years but quickly learn to adore them, especially when her parents noticed her jealousy issues and helped her get through it. In 2385 Gina's father was being considered for command; it was on Starship when the synth attack happened on Mars. He decided not to pursue command and retire, especially after he heard that Starfleet was going to discontinue its exploration program in favor of a more pacifist approach. The ideals that he helped fight for in the Dominion war no longer seem to interest the Federation. Gina listened to her parents belittle and Mock starfleet growing up. She was a teenager at the time. In 2390 she joins Starfleet despite her parents' objections, they advised that it was no longer Starfleet, it had turned into something else. Gina was okay with starfleet's new approach, she knew that Starfleet still needed good officers to protected there boarders. She always wanted to be a pilot, and she knew this was her chance. She wanted to get out there and fly a fighter and help protect her home. The thrill of flying was very appealing to her despite her parents' objections. Starfleet Academy: Betazed Gina went to Betazed to attend the academy. She was a hot shot from the beginning and a little egotistical, thinking that she was the best. Her scores prove that she was a decent pilot, but her instructor classified her as reckless and impatient and almost flunked her out of the program. He did say though, that she was a natural talent and a little too cocky for her own good. After speaking to the commandant she had a heart to heart and took her training a little more seriously. Gina was given a second chance, she was given the summer to relax and to think about her life choices she came back her sophomore year more focus and dedicated to her studies. Gina became friends but that you know in by the name of Roger McClain/Morrison, even though they never dated they should spend a lot of time together most people thought they were dating. In reality he was just a good friend, that helped her stay focused despite the fact that Roger wanted more from her. She wasn't going to let anything get in the way of her commission and being able to fly fighters for Starfleet. She maintained her friendship with Roger throughout her junior year, but by the beginning of the senior year, he expressed feelings towards her and it almost ended their friendship completely. She like them, but she didn't see him in a romantic way. She felt bad for breaking his heart but she couldn't do it, her heart wasn't in it at the time. And make matters worse they were both assigned to the same ship once they completed the academy. USS Valkyrie In 2394 Gina was assigned as a Tactical Systems Operator aboard the USS Valkyrie which is a typhoon class carrier. He spent the first year of her assignment as a TSO. After your good service she was then given her own fighter when the position came open. Gina's career is on the right path, despite it being a lonely one. For the most part her and Rodger had been able to maintain a friendship but a little after a year he asked if it be okay if he started dating which initially Gina said okay. Roger started to date someone but Gina discovered that she wasn't okay with it and she had feelings for him, she saw them and it made her jealous and it made her realize that she had feelings which put Roger in a tough position. Things did not go as she had planned. She couldn't blame him for choosing to be with the new girl, the fact she respected him for it. She knew it wasn't fair of her to proclaim her love for him, but now she could leave live with the fact that she told him how she felt. Deep down there she was hurt and devastated, but at least she would have some closure. About a month into the relationship Gina was surprised when the new girl ended the relationship with Roger. Their split was amicable and Gina without any hesitation or reservation decided to pursue our relationship with him and they've been together ever since. USS Aikido In 2396, Gina was offered the opportunity to transfer to the USS Aikido and Akira class escort carrier. She took the assignment in promotion to the 22nd Squadron Commander. Gina found it hard to leave Roger, but she knew this is in her best interest for her career. The two years apart seem very unbearable. Gina did her best to maintain her relationship with Roger, and it was working despite the long distance. She buried herself into her work to try to become the best Squadron Commander she could. Gina was very demanding, making every member of your team match her level of performance. She didn't want her team to be blown out of the sky in the first five minutes of combat; most of her team was straight out of the academy. Her team believed that her blood is filled with icicles. Most of them believe that she was acting this way because she was separated from her boyfriend and that they are paying the price about it she had to learn how to loosen up a little bit during those first two years it was a real learning experience for her team and her. Gina agreed to be a little nicer but she would not relent on the fact that they needed to be ready for combat, while she agreed to be nicer they had to agree to give their best performance and nothing less. USS Okinawa In 2398 Gina was given the position of air wing squadron boss on the USS Okinawa. She has one step away from her goal of being a Vice Deputy CAG. From her days at the Academy she knew she wanted to be a Commander Air Group, first though she needed to become a Vice Deputy Commander Air Group. Even though the position forced her out of the fighter's pilot chair, every opportunity she could, she would take a fighter out. Gina and Roger were both assigned to the USS Okinawa, while serving on the Okinawa they decided to get married. And by 2399 they had their first child together. Being pregnant put a little bit of a dampener on her career, she feared that if she had a second child that it may stagnate her career, and she may never earn the position of CAG. In February of 2400 he was pregnant with her second child. Careless planning on her part made her really fearful that she would be passed over for a future position. Rodger tried to convince her that was nonsense and that CAG Officers have children too. USS Aikido In 2400, Gina was promoted to Vice Deputy Air Wing Commander of the 4th Fleet, despite the fact that she was pregnant. Because of this she didn't want to take any down time, so she would take the minimum required amount of time to recover from her pregnancy and then be assigned as a deputy CAG. She was assigned to the USS Aikido am Akira Class Escort Carrier. This would Mark her second deployment on the Aikido. Most starships were only authorized to have a vice deputy Commander Air Group. It's been 2 years since she had seen Roger; her last assignment had her on deep deployment. To help raise her two children she ended up hiring a nanny, Starfleet allocated this resource to her. But every opportunity she could she helped take care of her young children, without jeopardizing her career. By 2401 her second child was born and then she decided no more children so she had a procedure to make sure of that. USS Atlantis In 2402, Gina was hoping to be selected for Deputy Commander Air Group, sadly she was passed over and instead was offered Vice Deputy Air Wing Commander of the 10th Fleet. She was assigned to the USS Atlantis, which was another Akira class escort carrier. Roger and her kids joined her on the USS Atlantis. Everyone really loved the USS Alantis, but she was still sad that she passed over on her first attempt. This was not uncommon at the time. Gina settled into her new role Vice Deputy Air Wing Commander. By the end of her second contract she managed to get the attention of an Admiral. In November of 2403. The 10th Fleet was trying to offer her another assignment. But someone else had a new offer for her to consider. Gina was intrigued that two admirals were trying to get her assigned to their units. She started to get a little excited about the possibilities. Starfleet Academy: XO Academy In 2404 Gina's next assignment would have been Vice Deputy Air Wing Commander of the 9nth Fleet. Again she appeared to be passed over for promotion. She was offered Vice Deputy Commander Air Group of the USS Jupiter. Unlike her last two assignments this would have been a full carrier, with four squadrons under her command. She believed this would put her in line for the promotion. Unbeknownst to her, Vice Admiral Domingo Martinez had other plans for her. He convinced her to attend the XO Academy to help her be in line for Deputy Commander Air Group. Domingo told her after a year in the academy that he would get her assigned to one of his escort carriers and after that completion of the year that he would look at making her a Deputy CAG at Port Royale in 2406. He explained to her that the station was just now becoming operational but she wasn't fully operational yet. Starfleet had decided that having a bulk of starships would suffice for the lack of fighter squadrons at the fleet yards. Domingo wanted an experienced Deputy CAG to oversee his tactical command unit, when Port Royale was fully operational. Domingo reviewed her service profile and knew she would be a perfect fit. USS Dragonstar In 2405 Gina was assigned as Vice Deputy Air Wing Commander of the 8th Fleet. She was advised by Domingo after she had completed this year that she would advance to Port Royale as the new Deputy Commander Air Group for the 8th Tactical Wing Command. Gina knew that she needed to start working on her replacement, sshevsaw a rising star in Noah Larson, but she wasn't sure if he was ready yet he still needed at least one tour under his belt as squadron commander and one tour as Air Wing Squadron Boss before she could even consider it. In some ways Noah reminded her of herself when she first started her career as a squadron commander. Gina, reluctantly, was forced to look at outsiders to potentially replace her in 2406. She would definitely keep Noah in mind in 2407 for Air Wing Squadron Boss. Gina was also excited because this would be the first time her and Roger would be able to be stationed at together again it would have been a couple years. |
