| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Quinn is very approachable type of guy. He projects a level of calmness. He tends to have a cheerful spirit and is very cooperative. He loves to lead by example. For everyone who serves under him. Quinn is a courteous man, he loves to help others at all times. He is often polite and listens to everyone's problem. Quinn learned to be courteous when he had a child. Quinn is very dedicated and devoted in everything that he does. He is not a perfectionist. But he completes tasks, that he starts. In that manner, he is very diligent and punctual. Quinn's personality is often seen as energetic and contagious laughter and smile on his face. He is very friendly. Quinn hopes that being energetic and friendly, that others will follow in his footsteps. Weakness: Quinn can be a little grumpy and lazy first thing in the morning. He needs a little kick to get him going. Luckily he has a strong wife and daughter to help him with that. Quinn can be a little nosy, this has to do with his wanting to help everyone mentality. Sometimes he gets to drawn into the situation, and goes from empathetic to sympathetic. Quinn is very picky about his fine spirits, that he loves to consume. For the sake of his young daughter, he keeps them stored in his ready room. But never drinks while on duty. Quinn can be a little stubborn, about the safety of the ship, her crew and most importantly to her Captain. He believes its his duty to protect the Captain, even from the Captain. |

| Hobbies & Interests | Hollow deck: Quinn likes to spend a lot of his free time on the holodeck, working on his personal inter relational skills. He finds it hard to bring up small talk. Part of him does not know what to say. He often fumbles through first encounters. Gym: Working in the gym, mainly likes to tone his body, he tends to keep to himself and participates in the cardio workouts. Even though he is in a sea of people, he feels alone and tends to work out alone. Minding his own business, and completes his workout cycles. He enjoys running on the treadmill and the occasional racquetball game. Musical shows: Quinn loves attending musical performances on a ship. Most of the time,he attends the show, he hates sitting with people not cause he wants to avoid them for social interaction. Most of the time they chatter way to much. Quinn is interested in a lot of sports, liked water sports and racquetball. His favorite sport is rafting. He has been known to go rafting on the holodeck, but he prefers the real thing. Beyond water sports, he is also interested in the following; dancing, camping, hiking, swimming, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, and board games from the 21st century. |
| Personal History | Childhood: Quinn was born August 2, 2365 to Agus and Denora Ó Flannagáin.He is an only child. He wished he had siblings growing up. Because of this, he was over friendly during school. He came from a proud family of irish farmers. However his father was the first Ó Flannagáin not continue with the family farm. Quinn later joined his father, and decided not to be a farmer. His father signed up to join Starfleet. A tradition that Quinn would pursue down the road. From a young age, Quinn loved his father despite the fact he was never home. Growing up without a father around as child was unbearable. He was proud of his father, but he feared that his father would get killed during the Dominion War. Luckily his father survived the war. As a child he told himself, if he ever had a family. He would place them first. He felt like he missed so much from his father because of Starfleet. He did not want to repeat that vicious cycle. Quinn was raised by his mother Denora, he was the only child, mainly because his father was in deep space, and the few times he was home, they never had another child. Which made Quinn sad, but he had no problem making friends at school. His best from grade school all the way up to high school was a young man named Robbie O’Mallary. They both joined Starfleet in 2383, straight out of high school. The two friends were inseparable, and Robbie was responsible for Quinn meeting Ameri during their high school days. When Quinn met Ameri he was taken by her immediately. He knew she was the one for him. He could not explain how he knew it, but he knew that she was the one for him. They started to date their sophmore year in High School. They dated throughout Highschool. By his Senior year, he knew he wanted to get married. Quinn first felt challenged by Ameri's siblings, once they accepted him, he felt like part of the family. Which in part, wanted to make him marry his high school sweetheart. Quinn was introduced to Ameri when Robbie tried to flirt with Ameri. But she was not taken by his antics. Ameri told him that Robbie reminded him of her brother Timothy. Which was a huge turn off for her. Quinn and Ameri were inseperable from high school. They both knew they wanted to join starfleet. Quinn wanted to work in security, while Ameri decided she wanted to fix things and join operations. Academy: 2383 - 2387: In the Summer of 2383, Robbie O’Mallary, Ameri Fitzgerald and Quinn Ó Flannagáin joined Starfleet Academy and both men went into the Security and Tactical Operations courses. Ameri signed up for operations. The three of them joked about getting number one in their class. The two men barely took their courses seriously, they thought of it as a cake walk. But when neither of them placed in the top ten their freshman year, they both had to swallow their pride, and decided to take the academy more serious. Quinn did not like to fail, and when he took 3rd for his class, it was a rude awaking. By the end of the sophomore year, Robbie placed first and Quinn placed 4rth. While Ameri took first in her class. Quinn felt like he was falling behind. Which was silly, he was a very capable officer. Robbie and Ameri were also capable officers as well. And Quinn was a little jealous, but he tried to happy for his friend and his girl friend. By end of the summer, Quinn doubled down and focused even harder, while Robbie ended up meeting a girl. And his attention was a little distracted, this allowed Quinn a chance to catch up. While attending the Academy, the academy students learned of the attack to the Mars Orbital Facility, that destroyed the shipping yards. The Artifical workforce of Androids attacked the Federation. The motive behind the attack was never made clear. This action caused the Federation to ban all synthetic life and research. As their junior year started, Robbie started to date a science cadet. However his new girlfriend would not allow him to slack, he was able to keep first in class status, while Quinn only became third in class. Quinn was really getting annoyed, he felt a great shame in himself, for not coming in first. He knew he was capable of more. However he never got to prove this during the academy. Quinn graduated in 2387 third in his class while his best friend graduated first in his class. The final year at the academy, was very intense. There was a lot of test and simulations, they had to complete. They both got through the academy, and were assigned to the USS Tomeka as Security Officers, working Gamma Shift. Service: 2387 - 2388: Quinn and Ameri were married on June 15, 2387, a few days after they completed the academy. Robbie was offered a position on the USS Enterprise but turned it down to stay with his friends. The three of them were assigned to the USS Tomeka in 2387. Robbie's girlfriend was also assigned to the USS Tomeka as well. Robbie and Carrie O'Donnell started to become very serious with one another. They were talking marriage too. Unlike Quinn, it took Robbie a little longer to want to settle down. Once they did, the four of them grew even closer. Ameri and Quinn immediately took to their new assignment. Quinn was placed on the day shift, and Ameri worked in Operations. The USS Tomeka spent the next few months charting the the Ogami Sector of Space. The USS Tomeka was lost, when a group of raiders attacked the ship. Quinn and Ameri managed to escape along with a few junior officers. Starfleet had under estimated the pirates. This mistake cost them an Intrepid Class Starship design. 2388-2389, On February of 2388, Quinn and Ameri were assigned to the USS Chima who resumed the mission of the USS Tomeka. The Chima was another Intrepid Class Starship. Quinn was still working in Security, and Ameri was still working in Operation. Things in the sector where only esclating, and Starfleet kept refusing to send aid to the sector. They insisted that the Chima was enough, to hold the line. That decision cost Starfleet dearly once again. Starfleet decided it would be better to close off its exploration and focus on defenses of their own sectors of space. The Synth attacked changed the politics of the Federation. Starfleet Security was given more direct control over the tactical operations side of the house, and measures were taken to protect key assests over the planets. Starfleet Security felt they would not be able to protect every planet. Quinn did not agree with this decision, but he was forced to enforce the policies of Commdore Oh and Starfleet Command. Quinn served on the USS Chima till the ship was later destroyed in June of 2389. Barely two years out of the academy and two ships he served on were destroyed. Once again the pirates proved the Federation over estimated their technology and the ship was destroyed, and again Quinn and a few other junior officers started to wonder if the Federation was going to stop the pirates. Just a year before, they lost the USS Tomeka in a similiar attack. The pirates were well organized. They had barely been on the Chima for three months, when the ship was destroyed . 2389 - 2393, In 2389 Robbie and Carrie were re assigned the Romulan Boarder. They were assigned to the USS Covington. Robbie was offered Chief of Security Role on the Covington. Quinn was looking for his own department to command, sadly he was over looked. Ameri was offered her own department in 2389 for Operations on the USS Midway, and by luck the Midway was looking for an Assistant Chief of Security and Tactical Operations. Quinn was slightly dissapointed, but this gave his family a chance to be together, and that's what really mattered the most to him. Edspecially after the loss of the USS Tomeka and the USS Chima. Quinn swallowed his pride and took the assigment. He was grateful he did, his new department head started to mold him into becoming one of the best officers in all of Starfleet. By 2393, Quinn had turned down three officers for his own department. It was not till 2393 that Quinn took a promotion to the USS Nantucket, as Chief of Security. He did not want his wife to left behind. Family was very important to him. November 11, 2393, Enya Keely Ó Flannagáin was born to Ameri and Quinn Ó Flannagáin. They couple were so happy to have Enya. Quinn was not sure where the USS Nantucket was going to be assigned too. Starfleet had reassigned them to the Hromi Cluster of space. They felt the cluster which was deeper into Federation controlled space, was a better allocation of their resources and protection. Quinn did not like the fact Starfleet had pulled out of the Ogami Sector. And left it to the will of the pirates. Quinn could not help but think was he some sort of harbinger of death, as soon as they arrived in the Hromi Sector, the pirates had followed them. They were trying to push their way through the system, when the 14th Attack Wing, stopped them. The USS Nantucket, was able to stay in the area. She was a Luna Class Starship. A ship that Quinn and Ameri stayed on until 2398, when he took a promotion. For the next five years the Nantucket started to become a home for them. A home that Quinn almost declined a promotion to remain onboard. Quinn was promoted to Second Officer in 2396 and by 2398 he was offered first officer of the USS Exter. Ameri convinced him to take the executive officer role in 2398. 2398 - 2404: Quinn was in his first year as executive officer of the USS Exter. Just a year into being the first officer, in 2399, Just as he got use the role, he learns from retired Admiral Jean Luc Picard, that the Tal Shair are behind the Synth Attack, and the Federation was being controlled by a Tal Shair Agent. Quinn was furious to learn the truth. Quinn already hated the Federation's new mentality of isolation, and only protecting the establishes members of the Federation. He did not like the fact that Romulan's played them like puppets. They were doing their bidding. Quinn heard that a young Admiral was trying to re launch the exploration intiative of the Federation. A Commodore by the name Domingo Martinez really sparked the intrest of Quinn. He wanted to serve in Martinez's new task force. Quinn dedicated his time as first officer, learning all that he could to become a Captain. By 2400, Quinn felt that his life and career were back on track. Quinn and Ameri were both caught surprised when a failed diplomatic mission with the Gilan Empire lead the Federation into a small skirmish that some called a war. The conflict barely lasted a year. Quinn's ship the USS Exter was caught up in the war, during the conflict the ship was damaged, and a few crew members were killed. Quinn took their losses hard. He was still bound and determined to see the Federation's new exploration task force off. He wanted to serve in the new task force. He honestly believed if an exploration starship went to visit the Gilan Empire, they might have avoided war. For to long, the Federation had remained neutral. A lot of races were upset at the Federation, for abandoning them. The Gilan Empire being one of those races. In 2402 Quinn was offered a command of his own. He was offered command of the USS Charleston. Starfleet had noticed and wanted give Quinn, a ship of his own for all his hard work and dedication. His father Agus was so proud of him. His father retired out of Starfleet, after the war as a Lieutenant Commander and Security Chief. Agus was very proud of the fact, that his son was going to get a command of his own. Quinn turned down the promotion. He wanted an exploration cruiser. He wanted to serve under Admiral Martinez. Agus was proud of his son. Agus knew that Quionn had surpassed him, and was not settling. Agus was very proud of his son. Quinn was following his heart. Agus was not the only one proud of him. Ameri was also proud of Quinn, sadly the USS Charleston did not need a Education Director,and Quinn was not going to leave his wife behind. Plus he was not really wanting to serve on a battle cruiser. In 2403, Quinn continued to serve as the executive officer of the USS Exter. A lot of the crew, to include her captain where a little shocked that he turned down the promotion. They all respected his decision, but Quinn was set in his mind, that he wanted to command an exploration cruiser. Ameri was the first to support his decision to remain first officer of a defense vessel. Quinn knew he had what it took to be an explorer. When he had free time, he took up diplomacy courses and went over first contact protocols. In his heart, he knew he was an explorer. And he could not wait for the day to prove it. His captain was impressed with his commitment to stay put and further enhance his own skill set. He made several notations in his service file, recommending him for command of an exploration cruiser. However no opportunties presented themselves in 2393, and Quinn focused on his duties as first officer and being a family man. However by the end of the year, Quinn received some news. In 2404, Quinn's request was granted a command in Admiral Martinez's new task force armada he was assembling. Quinn was choosen to attend Starfleet Academy's Command Course. Quinn, Ameri and Enya all transferred from the USS Exter to Starfleet Academy. His ship mates gave him a big farewell party. Two officers in particular told him, that if he got his own command to give them a call. Which is something he did by the end of 2404. Quinn really liked working with Clarissa and Jayden Robertson. Quinn was number one in his class, he finally beat out his old arch nemesis. Granted Robbie took command back in 2401. However Robbie was in command of a destroyer class vessel, versus Quinn was now in command of the USS Athena a new state of the art Guardian Class Exploration Cruiser. In 2405, Quinn took command of the USS Athena. |
