Personal History Caterina Rizzo , had always admired her father. He had raised her single-handedly ever since her mother had left them one day without a trace. Despite the hardships they faced, Caterina’s father had always been a pillar of strength for her. She knew it wasn’t easy to be a full time parent but he always made her feel wanted.

When Caterina was old enough, about the time she started third grade, her father sat down with her and told her about mother. It was then that Caterina knew why she had such distinctive eyes. She was half Andrélian.

She asked a lot of questions, some of them he could answer but when it came to her mother he had none. She had left to go shopping and never came back. There was a message on his computer from her telling him she could not explain but not to ever try to contact her.

Caterina got on the computer and found out what she could about her mother’s people, well hers as well. Half of her DNA was from her and she wanted to know who she was. Caterina really didn’t understand the telepathic trait she might one day have. She thought it was both scary and intriguing.

Daniel was the only one outside her father who Caterina shared with. He was her best friend and confidant. They had a friendship like none other and were loyal to each other. Daniel was with her through all of her research and thought it was cool she might be able to read someone’s mind.

Caterina would lay on her bed at night and try to figure out how to know if she was telepathic. She felt like she should feel different than she had before she found out about her heritage.

Caterina was ten years old when she had her first emoathic
experience. She was in her backyard, playing with Daniel when they fell on the ground, Caterina landed on top of him and suddenly, she was sensing his emotions and then felony them. She was shocked and didn’t move for a moment, but Daniel rolled over as she fell on the grass. When he spoke to her and she didn’t answer, he reached out and touched her and Caterina felt his confusion, mixed with with concern.

Caterina, in that moment, realized that she had gotten this ability to feel his emotions from. Caterina sat for a few minutes and then spoke, telling Daniel what had happened. Caterina was afraid he would be mad but Daniel was understanding and when she said she felt tired, they went in the house and she fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie.

A few hours later, Caterina father came home and she told him. There weren’t secrets between them after her father had finally told her about her mother. Caterina’s father told her that her abilities were nothing to play with.

Caterina desperately wished there was someone she could talk to from her mothers people so she could understand all of it more.
Caterina aspired to become a gymnast and win the gold one day.

She had a natural talent for acrobatics and was determined to make her dream a reality. She spent countless hours practicing in her backyard, pushing herself to the limits and always striving
Caterina was heavily into gymnastics wanting to win the gold one day. She was going through a lot and trying to deal with the changes in her as she got older and one day while she was competing, Caterina suffered a terrible fall. The accident left her with injuries and she stayed overnight at the hospital just for precautions in accordance with head injuries. Caterina was grateful that Daniel stayed with her as long as he could.

As Caterina lay in her hospital bed, she had plenty of time to reflect on her life and her aspirations. Despite the boredom, a spark of interest in medicine began to ignite within her. The doctors and nurses who attended to her during her stay fascinated her. She saw how they worked tirelessly to care for their patients, easing their pain and providing hope.

Once she got home, Caterina was scared to go to the gym and get back into gymnastics. She was afraid of getting hurt again. Her father sat and talked to her one day and no matter how hard he tried, Caterina wouldn’t go. She ended up crying out of fear and her father let it go.

What he didn’t know was just before she competed two other girls were pointing and laughing at her. Caterina was warming up and she bumped into or. Of them and the anger and hate she felt disturbed her. When she was on the balance beam all she could think of was that. It was her own fault she got hurt. She didn’t want to use her abilities anymore.

Intrigued by the world of medicine, Caterina seized the opportunity to learn more. She delved into extensive research on different medical fields and the avenues that existed for her to pursue. Caterina rediscovered herself and found a new purpose – she wanted to become a doctor.

While her father was surprised by Caterina’s sudden change in career goals, he supported her wholeheartedly. With his help and guidance, Caterina started taking the necessary steps to achieve her dreams. She excelled in her studies and earned scholarships.

But Caterina felt that there was something missing, something beyond traditional medical education. She yearned for a challenge that would push her limits and unleash her creativity. That's when she stumbled upon Starfleet Academy, a renowned institution that combined medicine and groundbreaking research.

Starfleet Academy was known for its innovative programs and cutting-edge technology. It offered a unique curriculum that emphasized both traditional medical training and creative problem-solving. Caterina knew that this was the perfect place to nurture her talents and make a difference in the field of medicine.

With her determination and passion, Caterina poured all her efforts into applying to Starfleet Academy. The application process was rigorous, but Caterina’s years of hard work paid off. She was accepted into the esteemed institution, a feat that filled her with pride and excitement.

At school, Caterina was often seen with her best friend, Daniel Forester. They were inseparable and shared a lot of interesrs. But despite their bond, people often misunderstood their relationship. The other kids at school believed they were dating, but in reality, Caterina and Daniel were just good friends.

Daniel was the quarterback for the football team, after games he would coerce Caterina into going. Most of the time she bowed out but on occasion she would go. cheer squad and other students and make a bonfire. Caterina would sit off to the side while they played beach volleyball and watch. She wasn’t comfortable with crowds of people, she was more comfortable with just a few.

They took their entrance exams for Starfleet Academy at the same time and celebrated when they were both accepted. After their graduation ceremony, the two friends went out for a pizza and a couple Dr. Pepper’s. They spent the next two weeks spending time together before Daniel headed off to Bajor. Caterina and Daniel promised to stay in touch with each other, fully aware that it would be a long time before they might see each other again.

Daniel Forester

Caterina and Daniel had been inseparable since they were young children. They lived in the same neighborhood, attended the same elementary school, and spent every summer vacation exploring the woods and playing make-believe. Their friendship was steadfast, and they became each other's pillars of support as they navigated through the ups and downs of life.

Daniel supported her when she first found out details about her mother and then when she first realized she was empathic. She was there for him when his parents divorced and her father remarried and moved away.

As they grew older, Caterina's passion and talent for gymnastics flourished. She trained day in and day out, pushing her body to its limits, dreaming of one day competing at the Olympic Games. Daniel was her biggest cheerleader, attending every competition, and celebrating each victory with her.

However, when an unfortunate injury during a routine left Caterina questioning her gymnastic career, Daniel was the one who supported her with whatever she decided.

Daniel remained by her side, offering unwavering support and a listening ear. He helped her pick up the pieces and encouraged her to explore new ventures. Daniel also listened and didn’t judge her when she admitted it had been bumping into that girl and allowing her empathic ability to take over that has caused her injury.

Caterina's dream of becoming a doctor began to take shape, and Daniel played a crucial role in guiding her towards applying to Starfleet Medical Academy. Despite the distance that would soon separate them, their bond remained unbreakable.

High school was a rollercoaster ride for both Caterina and Daniel, filled with academic challenges, peer pressure, and difficult choices. Caterina was always there to offer her expertise in science and math, while Daniel shared his thoughts on literature and art. They tackled every obstacle together, sharing late-night study sessions, celebrating good grades, and consoling each other through disappointments.

The best times was when they were hanging out, just the two of them or sometimes, Liz, Daniels younger sister would come along. She was just a year younger than them. They would go shopping or go minature golfing. Caterina wasn’t any good at it but she managed to get through the game.

As they ventured into the realm of romantic relationships, Caterina and Daniel leaned on one another for advice and support. They empathized with each other's heartbreaks, offering words of encouragement and reminding one another of their worth. Their bond became a powerful foundation, guiding them in making wise choices and always reminding them of the importance of self-love and respect.

Starfleet Academy

Caterina arrived at Starfleet Medical Academy with excitement and anticipation, ready to embark on her journey to become a skilled and esteemed medical professional. As she stepped onto the campus grounds, a surge of awe washed over her. The buildings stood tall and proud, their architecture exuding intellectual prowess.

With her determination fueled by the desire to make a difference in people's lives, Caterina threw herself wholeheartedly into her studies. She attended lectures, completed assignments diligently, and voraciously absorbed any additional knowledge she could find. The professors at the academy were impressed by her curiosity and dedication, and they quickly recognized her potential.

Caterina contacted Daniel after the first month there. He talked a mile a minute about his studies on Bajor. Distance did not lessen their friendship .

In her very first semester, Caterina found herself paired as roommates with Jennifer Martin, an aspiring doctor with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. The two girls hit it off right from the start, bonding over their shared passion for medicine and their insatiable love for discovering new things. They spent countless nights engrossed in conversations about the latest medical breakthroughs and debated case studies long after the lights-out hour.

It wasn’t all work and no play for Caterina. She joined the academy chorus. She had never sang in a group before. Caterina did well until she had to sing before a crowded group of people. She quit the next day citing studying issues.
At least once a month, Jennifer and Caterina would go the beach on a Saturday. They would eat hotdogs and swim or sunbathe on the beach. Caterina would invite her lab partner, Debbie once in a while. They had become good friends and supportive of each other in class.

Caterina was upfront with Jennifer, she also had her birth certificate changed to reflect her mothers heritage. Caterina knew it might turn some people off but she wasn’t hiding who she was.
Once a month, Daniel would contact her or she would contact him. Caterina missed him and wished he was here with her but she knew he was living his best life and that was what she wanted for him.

Daniel would once again urge her to contact someone who could help her understand her abikities more. Caterina would shut him off right away. She was living life just fine as it is.

As the semesters rolled by, Caterina and Jennifer faced numerous challenges. They tackled complex cadaver dissections, engaged in rigorous group projects, and endured grueling exams. Through it all, their friendship only grew stronger. They supported each other during the moments of doubt and celebrated each other's achievements, forming an unbreakable bond.

Caterina met Adrian Walters and dated him while attending the academy. At first she thought he might be the one but when Caterina caught him cheating on her she cut him out of her life. Caterina decided to be cautious with boyfriends in the future.

One day, Caterina received an invitation to apply for a prestigious internship at the renowned Vulcan Medical Center. It was an opportunity that could skyrocket her career and set her on the path to greatness. Excitement and nerves consumed her as she poured hours into perfecting her application. Caterina's dedication paid off when she received the news of her acceptance – she was going to Vulcan.

During her time at the Vulcan Medical Center, Caterina was exposed to an entirely new approach to medicine. The Vulcans valued logic and rationality, which often clashed with her human emotions. However, she embraced the challenge, recognizing the importance of harmonizing compassion with scientific precision.

Though it was hard, Caterina found that they were more serious minded than those back home. One of the other doctors, T’ral took her to see points of interest on Vulcan on an occasional day off. Caterina hoped to keep in contact with her.

Upon her return to Starfleet Medical Academy Caterina found herself transformed. The experiences she had gained, coupled with an unwavering passion for healing, fueled her determination. She excelled in her final year, earning top marks in her courses and garnering praise from her professors.

As graduation day approached, Caterina felt a concoction of excitement and nostalgia. She reflected upon her journey, the countless hours spent pouring over textbooks, the late-night conversations shared with Jennifer, and the invaluable experiences gained during her internship.

Caterina knew that her time at Starfleet Medical Academy had not only equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary for saving lives but had also shaped her into a compassionate and resilient individual.

Caterina was excited when she found out Daniel was graduating from the Bajor Academy and she told him with excitement that she was as well. She then expressed her fears of failing and Daniel gave her his best talking to. Caterina was grateful to him.

On the day of the graduation ceremony, Caterina received her diploma with pride and a mixture of emotions. Standing proudly alongside Jennifer, who had become her closest friend and confidant, they raised their heads high, ready to face the vast universe that awaited them. Together, they were prepared to heal, learn, and make an impact on the lives of those who crossed their paths.

And as Caterina looked out into the sea of aspiring medical professionals around her, she knew that her journey was just beginning. With determination burning in her eyes, she took a step forward, ready to continue her pursuit of knowledge and her quest to alleviate suffering across the stars.

Adrian Walters

Caterina and Adrian had always been drawn to each other at the academy. As cadets, they were both passionate about the values and principles of Starfleet, which laid the foundation of their connection. Their lives intertwined seamlessly, and Caterina found herself falling deeper in love with Adrian with each passing day.

Adrian knew how to treat s lady, he always paid, opened the door for her. When they were together, Caterina felt like they were the only two people in the world, he made her feel special.
This was the first time since the accident that Caterina used her telepathic abilities. They would lay on the grass in the park near school and she would bask in the happiness and love she felt radiating off of him.

Caterina knew he was rhe one for her, that special someone, they were meant for each other. Valentines Day was coming and Adrian had planned a special evening for them, but at rhe last minute, he showed up with flowers and a box of candy and told her he had to cancel.

Caterina felt how sad he seemed to be and didn’t want to add to his sadness so when he said his professor had pulled his name to ghost a security team at the command center she had believed him. Carerina knew his career meant a lot to him so she played the understanding girlfriend. There was something else there but Caterina couldn’t get a handle on it. She sensed he wasn’t telling her everything.

After he left, Jennifer convinced her to hang out with her. She was between boyfriends and said sitting home was lame. They went downtown and had dinner.

Deciding to walk past the stores and restaurants, Caterina came to a stop as she looked in the window of the restaurant Adrian was taking her to. There sat Adrian with an incredibly beautiful woman. They were holding hands. She couldn’t move, though she felt like an intruder watching someone else’s story.

Adrian handed the woman a gift wrapped box she opened it. There was a necklace in it, Caterina tried to come up with an excuse, maybe this was his sister or a cousin but there was no mistaking the kiss she gave him as she leaned across the table. Adrian kissed her in return.

Caterina stared for the longest time and then turned to Jennifer and they left. To try and get a better explanation she messaged him and he said he was consoling his uncle. Caterina messaged him back and told him she couldn’t see him anymore.

Caterina heard him knocking on her door several hours later. She could have not answered but she believed in facing problems head on. She told him what she saw and wished him well. Strangely, Caterina wasn’t angry, she was sad that he wasn’t who she bought he was’.

Caterina gave up on happily ever after. She would settle for a man who treated her well and they were compatible, she wasn’t ever getting hurt like that again.

USS Lancaster 2401 - 2403
Caterina had always dreamed of exploring the vastness of space. Her passion for medicine led her to pursue a career in Starfleet, and after years of hard work and dedication, she finally graduated from the academy.

Excitement coursed through her veins as she was assigned to her very first starship, the USS Lancaster..

From her very first day on board, Caterina made it her mission to prove herself worthy of this incredible opportunity.
Her enthusiasm and dedication were immediately noticed by Dr. Rodriguez, the Chief Medical Officer. Impressed by her knowledge and quick thinking, he took her under his wing and became her mentor.

Caterina was grateful to have become friends with the chief counselor, Alana Drelles. They ate dinner together whenever they could and went back to one of their quarters and played Uno or Skipbo. On occasion, a couple crew members would join them.

Within just a few months, Caterina had the chance to showcase her skills during a crucial mission. The crew of the USS Andromeda had been on an exploration expedition to a distant planet when they received a distress signal from a nearby colony. The message detailed an outbreak of a deadly illness that was rapidly spreading among the settlers.

Without hesitation, Caterina's training kicked in, and she quickly identified the illness as a mutated strain of a known virus. Her mind raced as she analyzed the available resources on the ship and formulated a plan of action. Time was of the essence.

As the colony's inhabitants were transported to the starship's medical bay, Caterina and Dr. Rodriguez worked tirelessly to treat and contain the outbreak. Caterina's quick thinking saved countless lives as she implemented strict quarantine protocols and developed a vaccine to combat the virus.

The crew marveled at her ability to remain calm and focused even in the most chaotic moments. Caterina's empathetic nature and unwavering determination gave hope to those who were suffering. Her tireless efforts over the course of several days earned her the respect and admiration of the crew.

After the crisis was over, Caterina organized a get together for the medical staff. They played charades and relaxed together.
While on the USS Independence, Caterina dated Josh Zaldana. They were together for a year, Josh had just come off of a break up with a girl he dated since high school. Caterina was reluctant to date him but he assured her it was over.

Caterina fell deeply for Josh. He was like her in that he loved the crew gatherings. Josh told her he loved her and that he thought they might have a future together.

Caterina had always felt different and alone and Josh made her feel accepted and loved. She had even considered telling him about her abilities but she couldn’t quite trust him, not with her past experiences.

Then one day, Josh informed her that he was transferring off to be closer to his ex girlfriend. They realized they had something between them and wanted to try again.

Caterina went to her quarters and cried her eyes out. She was stuck on this ship with him and his ex was transferring rhere. Thankfully, in 2403, her hard work paid off and she was promoted to Assistant Medical chief and sent to the USS Independence.

USS Independence 2403 - 2405

After two years of dedicated service, Caterina had risen through the ranks on the USS Integrity. From a fresh-faced medical officer, she had become the trusted assistant medical chief, eagerly shouldering more responsibilities alongside her mentor.

Her days were now a whirlwind of patient care, paperwork, and schedules, as she supported the chief in any way she could.

Caterina's commitment to her work had not wavered, and her compassionate nature shone through in her interactions with patients. She had a natural ability to put them at ease, their worries dissipating as she administered treatments and provided comfort. The crewmembers of the USS Independence admired her dedication and relied on her unwavering support.

Caterina wasn’t on the ship very long when she joined a book club. She loved to read and felt like she might get to know someone that way. It worked for her because she became good friends with Jarrod Squires. They would sit and talk about the books they read for hours and then go get something to eat.

Caterina would go watch the crew in the mess hall play cards. On occasion she would join in but she always felt awkward when a lot of people joined in.

One particularly challenging day, the medical bay buzzed with activity. The chief had been called away for an urgent matter, leaving Caterina in charge. A sudden influx of patients stretched her abilities to the limit, but she remained calm and focused. Knowing she had the backing of her capable team, she coordinated their efforts with precision.

As the hours ticked by, Caterina found herself thrust into the depths of paperwork, ensuring accurate records were maintained and medications were replenished. Even with the chaos surrounding her, she tackled each task diligently, refusing to let any details slip through the cracks.

Despite the mounting pressure, Caterina's spirit remained unyielding. She radiated an air of confidence as she maneuvered through the frenetic medical bay, doling out instructions and checking in on patients' progress.

Her colleagues marveled at her ability to multitask effortlessly, acknowledging her invaluable contributions. In the midst of the organized chaos, Caterina found solace in the genuine moments of connection she shared with her patients.

Whether offering a reassuring smile or lending a listening ear, she understood the fundamental importance of providing emotional support alongside medical care.

The evening slowly crept in, signaling the end of a mentally and physically demanding day. Exhausted but fulfilled, Caterina made her way to the chief's office to debrief. The chief, impressed by her composure and dedication, acknowledged her invaluable role as the assistant medical chief.

Caterina tried dating again, but the first guy was really quiet and Caterina couldn’t connect with him. The second one came right out and told her he wasn’t interested in anything permanent just s good time.

Caterina became good friends with Cara Michaels. She was eight months pregnant the first time she came to sickbay. Caterina delivered her baby and helped out when she could as a babysitter. They became really close and Caterina felt the pangs of one day wanting a baby of her own.

The cheif medical officer praised her for a job well done and told her that she displayed confidence and empathy that impressed him. He also said he has no reservations leaving sickbay in her hands when he can’t be there.

Caterina, taken aback by these heartfelt words, smiled gratefully. The growth she had experienced over the past two years had not been without challenges, but she knew that with each new responsibility she had embraced, she had become a better medic. The journey had not always been easy, but her determination and passion had carried her through.

And yet through all she learned, Caterina felt a sense of dissatisfaction. She knew it was because she wanted to know more about herself, about who her mother had about the Andrélian people. She decided that at some point she was going to go there.

Utopia Station 2405 - Present

2405 - Present: Caterina was called to the ready room and was really nervous to see not only the captain, but Chief Medical Officer Rodriguez and Vice Admiral Martinez. She sat down after being told to have a seat.

The Vice Admiral got straight to the point and told her that he had been following her career and with all the recommendations he had received he was offering the position of Chief Medical Officer on Utopia Station. Caterina stared at him for a moment and then said he’s and thanked him for the opportunity. The first thing she did before she packed was send a message to Daniel; who responded with how proud he was of her.
