| General Overview | Izaro is the third child of four children. Both of his parents were teachers, his older sister Deidre became an ambassador after she bonded and married her mate. His brother went into teaching while Shanli headed off to discover herself. Izaro is outgoing and makes friends easily. He was so different from his serious minded family, often getting in trouble for pulling pranks on others. Izaro is very much a family oriented person. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and is determined to encourage both of their girls to choose a life they want to live. He knows he has to be a "parent" and steer them away from things that could be bad for them but he wants them to have the choice and not feel the pressure that he personally received from his own. |

He prides himself in doing his job the best he can. He is a loyal friend to those he holds close and is often found helping others where he can. | Hobbies & Interests | While at the Academy, Izaro worked as a bartender at a club and learned to dance on his off hours. He loves nothing more than a party with good music and beautiful women. He can be the life of the party or sit back, have a drink and just watch those around him, depending on his mood at the time. He works out and loves outdoor activities and when on shore leave will often be found mountain climbing, hand gliding, bunge jumping, scuba diving and parachuting. On board, Izaro has a love for reading fiction books, particularly classics. Get him to talk about a title and you will have a hard time getting him to stop. His family comes first with him. Izaro never thought he would be a parent but from the moment he held his children, he knew he would do anything for them. |
| Personal History | Early Years: Izaro was born on Betazed. His father taught mathematics while his mother was a history teacher. As a young child, he never really thought of anything outside his own world, growing up and marrying his parents choice for him, settling down and having a family. It wasn't until his Uncle Tobias came for a visit with tales of serving in the Federation that Izaro began to rebel from his destiny. No longer did he want to settle into the life his parents had chosen for him. He wanted to do great things, to see what was out their past the world he lived in. From that moment on, he was a rebel. Though he did good in school, getting high marks, Izaro spent every moment he could trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life, what he was good at, what he could excel at and show his family that he was more than they believed. Izaro does not have a close relationship with his parents and older brother. Though that saddens him, he has accepted that in order to be happy he has had to move on. To this day, he still makes attempts that are always met with orders to come home and start a family. Izaro recognized a long time ago that neither of his parents have his best interests at heart. His mother had his life mapped out from birth and his father, as he always has, goes along with whatever his mother wants. While he was in high school, Izaro had close connections with one of his teachers, whom he spent many hours with talking about his frustrations. Under the suggestion of his teacher, he made the decision to go to the Academy and become a science officer. Academy Years: Arriving at the Academy was a life changer for Izaro. He got a job, enrolled in science and was dismayed to find that it didn't feel like a good fit. He was determined not to fail so he looked into all the departments and when he got to operations he found what he was looking for. Izaro changed his field and found a job he loved doing. Izaro had minimal contact with his family other than news of Shanli and how she was doing. He was happy to discover that she was in Starfleet herself. Izaro looked at his friends families and wished that his was close. He knew that I order to have that he would have to sacrifice himself. Izaro was well into his studies when his parents contacted him and informed him that Treyla Solwick, whom he had bonded with when they were children was at the academy as well. His mother demanded that he meet with her so that they could get married and come home. Izaro cut off communication with them. He wasn’t interested in meeting her at all. She would probably be as bossy and dominating as his mother. He wasn’t even interested in giving it a try. One late night he was having a drink with friends when his Uncle Tobias showed up wanting to talk to him. Izaro was surprised when his uncle urged him to at least meet Treyla and make his own decision. They had bonded and it wasn’t something to treat lightly. Izaro listened as his uncle spoke and finally agreed to meet her but he wasn’t making any promises. It felt like he would be giving in and doing what his parents wanted. Izaro wasn’t even certain what kind of a husband he would be, let alone a father. And to marry because of an arrangement irritated him. He saw the relationships his human friends had and if he was getting married he wanted it like that. The moment Izaro met Treyla he felt drawn to her. Never before had he felt this way about a woman. It was partly the bond but he knew he wanted to get to know her better and it didn’t take long for him to know that he wanted to marry her. In 2392, Izaro and Treyla married shortly after their graduation. Izaro wasn’t surprised his parents showed up. They knew his marrying into the Solwick family was a huge move and suddenly they approved of his career. It was a short time later that Izaro and Treyla learned she was pregnant with her first child. Starfleet Years: Izaro and Treyla were assigned to the USS Hammersly. In 2393, Treyla gave birth to Adria. Izaro knew from the moment she was born she would have him wrapped around his finger. He knew he would move mountains for their daughter. Izaro was glad to see that the birth of their child changed things between his wife and mother in law. Even though he didn’t have the best relationship with Treyla’s mother he wanted them to get along. Izaro didn’t feel compelled to let his parents know they had a grandchild but at the urging of Treyla he did. Izaro and Treyla’s second child was born in 2395 and they named her Astria. He felt those same feelings rush through him as he held her for the first time. Some of the crew teased him about being surrounded by women but Izaro didn’t care. He loved his girls and it didn’t bother him that they didn’t have a son. In 2398, Izaro took a transfer to the USS Boadicea when Treyla accepted the promotion to Security Chief. He was proud of her as well as pleased that her hard work and loyalty to the fleet had been recognized. In 2401 Izaro was promoted to Lieutenant and offered a chief position on the USS Atlantis. He wasn’t surprised when he got to their quarters to tell Treyla that she had been transferred there as well and assigned as second officer as well as security chief. Izaro took a position at Starfleet Headquarters in 2404 when Treyla went to the Command Academy. He supported her decision knowing any ship in the fleet would be lucky with her command style. She was a born leader. After Treyla completed her training at the academy they both accepted positions on the USS Rook, where they currently serve out of Valhalla Fleet yards. Izaro was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and assigned second officer as well as Operations Chief. |
