Personal History Mary's parents were both Starfleet officers and she was born while they serving for Starfleet in 2380. Mary spent the younger years of her life on board ships.

From a young child she idolized her father and his friend Titus Knight. Mary loved to follow them around. She knew she wanted to enter Starfleet.

Her childhood was filled with school and hanging out with friends she made on board. Mary was raised in a strict military style home. That has carried over into her adult life as she follows those same rules in her everyday life.

When Mary was ten years old her father accepted a transfer, that would move his career along. It caused some disruption in the family when her mother was left behind until she could find a position that would take her close to the family. Mary hated having to say goodbye to her mom and honorary Uncle Titus. At first she moped around and was sad but she learned that separations come. It wasn't long before her mother was back with them but her contact with Titus was through a computer or emails.

Mary studied hard, wanting to go to Starfleet Academy and make her own mark in the universe. She watched her parents careers flourish as her father ended up at Starfleet Command as an Admiral and her mother was promoted and given a ship of her own.

Mary spent her high school years on Earth with her father. She found it hard to adjust at first but soon she made friends. Mary dated Tim Peterson while in high school but things never became serious. His plans for the future and hers were not the same. Mary was determined to never give up her dream. She wanted to someday be an admiral like her father was. Mary was very proud of him.

STARFLEET ACADEMY

In 2398, Mary headed to Starfleet Academy. She wasn't certain what field to go into but soon when into Strategic Operations. It felt like home to her.

Mary wasn't much of a party girl. She went to a party after her roommate harrassed her into going. Mary met a guy she liked and let him walk her home. When he tried to coerce her into sleeping with him, things got physical and Mary broke his nose. Luckily, with the witnesses she had, no charges were pressed. Mary decided that she was better served to stick with her studies.

Her last year at the academy, Mary met Drew Jackson. They were study partners and before long they became lovers. The two of them were inseparable and it was kind of unspoken they would continue to date after they graduated and were assigned to ships.

Mary graduated with top honors in 2402.! Her hard work had paid off. She was so happy to have both her parents there and even more excited to be assigned to the USS Saginaw. Drew had been assigned to the USS Patriot C and was headed off in a different direction.

USS SAGINAW

In 2402 Mary was assigned to the USS Saginaw shortly after graduation. She wasn’t a stranger to hard work and knew about starship living from growing up on one. Mary volunteered for any assignment that came along. Six months to the day of being on the ship, Mary was promoted to assistant chief. She had proven her worth to her superiors and the position opened unexpectedly due to the assistant chiefs sudden resignation.

In 2403, Mary and Drew made the decision to break up. They had seen each other only a few times and neither of them wanted to make the sacrifice for them to be together. That told Mary that there feelings for each other weren’t all that deep. She wished Drew the best and he did the same for her.

Mary worked hard to prove that she deserved the promotion. She assisted the chief in getting their reports done and helped him with scheduling. Mary volunteered for assignments that the others didn’t want to do. She wanted to keep moving up and made sure her name was remembered.

USS DRAGON STAR

In 2405, Mary was called into Captain Sandfords office and offered the Chief position on the Dragon Star. He told her that Vice Admiral Martinez had asked for her by name. Apparently he had heard good things about her and thought she would be a good fit with the crew. Mary accepted the transfer along with the Chief position.
